Apparently, many Ohio State fans are! UNDATED (AP) — Ohio State fans are hungry for the Gators. So, some Ohio stores are stocking up on gator meat. The top-ranked Buckeyes meet the second-ranked Florida Gators, in Monday's game for college football's national championship.
The West Point Market in Akron is selling alligator meat for 14-99 a pound. Meijer's supermarkets have frozen alligator fillets.
So, what does gator taste like? West Point meat manager Doug Fulton says it's not like chicken. But he may be a little biased in the Buckeye-Gator rivalry. While he lives in the Akron-area now, Fulton is a University of Florida grad.
